Alabama football offers fast-rising 2022 RB out of Georgia

Monday, the Alabama football program offered four-star 2022 prospect Damari Alston out of Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia.

You might remember when we told you to watch out for this high-riser back in April, before the junior gained several key offers.

The 5’11”, 200-pound running back has received a plethora of offers over the past few months, including Wisconsin, Oregon, Miami, North Carolina, Tennessee, Michigan and Michigan State.

With an offer from Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide in his back pocket, this fast-rising 2022 prospect now has an offer from just about every ‘RBU’ program. Given the track Alston is on, it would be no surprise to see the hometown Bulldogs of Georgia offer next.

Georgia last pulled a prospect out of Woodward Academy in its 2016 class with fellow speedster Elijah Holyfield at the running back position. Now, the War Eagles look to send yet another back to the Power 5 level, after 2019 three-star Tahj Gary signed with the Virginia Tech Hokies just one season ago.

Credit is due to Woodward’s Ryan Davis, who has helped several players including Alston gain national attention down in College Park.

Coming off a remarkable 12-1 sophomore campaign, it will be interesting to see how many more top programs jump on Alston’s stock as it continues to climb.

Make sure to stay tuned to the ATL SPORTSWIRE for recruiting coverage throughout the year.
